The annual passenger traffic of JSC "International Airport Irkutsk" crossed the million mark once again. The Jubilee passenger was met October 11, whereas in the past year, one million boundary had been overcome only on December 3. The Jubilee passenger of 2011 is Anton Gorovoy – Irkutsk citizen, who arrived from the Russian capital on the flight 778 of "S7 Airlines". Authorities of Irkutsk airport and Airline representatives have met and congratulated him near the air stairs.
As it turned out, the millionth passenger returned to his homeland with his wife from their honeymoon. The newlyweds said they absolutely did not expect such a meeting in their hometown; also it was the first time that they made a trip by air and they could not even imagine on such good fortune.
Deputy General Director for the operational management of JSC "International Airport Irkutsk" Andrey Scuba thanked the young couple, that they commanded the services of Irkutsk airport, and noted that the meeting of millionth passenger is momentous event for the airport, because not every Russian airport can boast such traffic volumes. "Irkutsk Airport is a dynamically developing enterprise. Today, we are doing everything necessary to make our passengers feel comfortable, try to provide maximum services that daily improves their quality. "
As a gift from Irkutsk airport newlyweds have received a certificate for getting service in the business hall during 2012. General Representative in the Eastern regional branch of "S7 Airlines" Alexander Zyubr congratulated the newlyweds and offered them to continue their honeymoon. As a gift from the airline the millionth passenger received a certificate for flight from Irkutsk to Phuket (and return) for two persons.
It is worth noting that the volume of passenger traffic of JSC "International Airport Irkutsk" in 2011 is the maximum for the past 16 years. Thus, from 1995 to 2006, annual passenger traffic did not reach the million mark. It is planned that by the end of 2011 it will be served 1.2 million passengers at the Irkutsk airport.
